Writer-director Rob Hardy, who previously wrote and directed "The Gospel," "Trois," and "Trois 2: Pandora's Box," will direct the sequel to 2007 dance movie "Stomp the Yard" for Rainforest Films, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
"Stomp the Yard 2: Homecoming" will be produced by Will Packer, who also produced for director Sylvain White to direct the highly successful "Stomp the Yard" which grossed $75 million worldwide on a $13 million budget. Hardy was the executive producer of the movie.
Actor Columbus Short, who starred in the original movie as DJ Williams, a krump dancer in inner-city Los Angeles, is in talks to reprise his role.
Other casting is reportedly still under way.
The shooting of the movie is set to begin early next month in Atlanta.
