Chow Yun Fatt will be co-starring with Chinese actor Ge You in Chinese director Jiang Wen's action comedy "Let the Bullets Fly". They will be joined by the movie's other cast, including Hu Jun, Chen Kun, Shao Bing, Liao Fan and Zhang Mo.
This movie is the second collaboration between Hong Kong-based Emperor Motion Pictures and Jiang Wen's Beijing-based company, Buyilehu Films. They had previously worked together in "The Sun Also Rises".
Chow will be starring as a ruthless but humorous gangster leader in mid-20th century China.
Producer Ma Ke was quote as saying, "As director Jiang Wen was very demanding, it took six months and nine writers to revise the script, which was finally completed earlier this week".
"However there are more than ten options for the ending of the movie. Finally the director and Chow came up with the final version after an impromptu discussion while they went out for drinks", he added. "Now we can say Chow's role was tailor-made for him."
The HK150 million movie has already started filming early October in suburban Beijing, and will be released in fall of 2010.

ReplyDeleteI've high hopes for the movie to be successful, considered that it took so much time in preparation. I believe director Jiang Wen will do fine job.
