Anne Heche joins Ed Helms at "Cedar Rapids"

Anne Heche will be taking on the female leading role in Fox Searchlight's comedy "Cedar Rapids," alongside Ed Helms who will play the male leading role, and John C. Reilly, reports Variety.

Heche, who will also be starring in Columbia Pictures'"The Other Guys" alongside Will Ferrell and Mark Wahlberg, is set to play a woman who befriends a small-town Wisconsin insurance agent (Helms) who goes to an insurance convention to try to save the jobs of his fellow workers.

Director Miguel Arteta, who is best known for directing comedy thriller "Chuck & Buck" in 2000, is attached to direct "Cedar Rapids" from the script written by Phil Johnston.

Arteta's latest directorial apart from "Cedar Rapids" is "Youth in Revolt," a romantic comedy starring Michael Cera and due out in 2010.

Alexander Payne will be producing the comedy with his Ad Hominem Enterprises partners, Jim Taylor and Jim Burke.
