Anne Hathaway, Neil Patrick Harris and Rodrigo Santoro are in negotiations to voice characters in the 3D digital animation movie "Rio," reports The Hollywood Reporter.
Blue Sky Studios, Twentieth Century Fox and director Carlos Saldanha are set to collaborate again for "Rio," after the successful 3D animation "Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs" which grossed $882 million worldwide.
Twentieth Century Fox Animation president Vanessa Morrison was quoted as saying,"We are thrilled to embark upon our next project with the immensely talented Carlos Saldanha. He is sure to bring this story and world to life with great vibrancy and imagination."
"RIO" centers on a nerdy macaw who leaves the comforts of his cage in small town Minnesota and embarks on the adventure of a lifetime while heading to his targeted destination which is Rio de Janeiro.
Chris Jenkins "Surf’s Up" and Bruce Anderson "Dr. Seuss’ Horton Hears A Who!" will be producing.
The movie is scheduled to be released on April 8, 2011 by Fox.
