"Doomsday" director Neil Marshall is all set to direct his first 3D movie, and it's a horror!
According to Variety, Lionsgate announced that it has acquired worldwide distribution rights for a 3D horror movie titled, "Burst 3D", and signed on Marshall to direct the movie, replacing Daniel Calparsoro who was previously attached to direct.
The movie will be produced by Sam Raimi and Rob Tapert through their Ghost House Pictures. This marks the first time Lionsgate is collaborating with Ghost House Pictures. Gary Dauberman (who also wrote the script for Guillermo del Toro's "Deadman") will pen the screenplay for the movie.
The movie is about a group of stranded travelers during a blizzard who mysteriously begin to combust spontaneously after they met with a supernatural force.
Lionsgate's Motion Picture Production president, Mike Paseornek said, "horror fans are guaranteed one of the most terrifying and innovative experiences of their moviegoing lives."
