"The Mortal Instruments" have Unique Features

Unique Features partners Bob Shaye and Michael Lynne is in collaboration with Constantin Film to develop Cassandra Clare's bestselling trilogy novels into movie.

Unique Features optioned "The Mortal Instruments" series of novels which comprised of "City of Bones," "City of Ashes" and "City of Glass" several months ago. Writer Jessica Postigo, who wrote "Operation Checkmate" for Screen Gems, will be writing the screenplay based on the three novels.

The movie tells the story of sixteen-year old girl named Clary Fray, who lives in New York with her mother. When her mother went missing, she went in search for her mother. Clues led her into an alternate New York filled with demons, warlocks, vampires and werewolves.

Constantin Film's Robert Kulzer will produce the fantasy movie, while Martin Moszkowicz, also of Constantin, will be exec producer. There is not words yet as to who will be directing the movie.
