Seems Chris Pine (most notably starring as James T. Kirk in the new Star Trek movie) has a busy schedule coming up.
Firstly, he was reported yesterday, to be in talks to join director D.J. Caruso in "The Art of Making Money" that will start production as early as next year. Today, Variety is reporting that he is also in negotiation with Paramount Pictures to star in the reboot of the Jack Ryan franchise. He will be taking on the role of CIA analyst Jack Ryan.
Lorenzo di Bonaventura and Mace Neufeld will be producing the movie, from the script by Hossein Amini.
Although negotiation is still in the early stage, Pine is expected to join the movie, which is still in development.
If Pine made it, he'll be the fourth person to play Jack Ryan. Alec Baldwin originally played the character in 1990's "The Hunt for Red October", Harrison Ford played him in 1992's "Patriot Games" and 1994's "Clear and Present Danger", and Ben Affleck played him in 2002's "The Sum of All Fears."
Pine is currently filming Tony Scott-directed Unstoppable with Denzel Washington.
