According to announcement made by Hammer Films and Overture Films, "Cloverfield" director Matt Reeves has cast Oscar nominee Richard Jenkins, Kodi Smit-McPhee and Chloe Moretz in a remake of popular Swedish vampire movie,"Let the Right One In". The American remake version is given the name,"Let Me In".
Smit-McPhee will be starring as Owen, while Moretz is to play Abby. Jenkins plays Hakan, the guardian of Abby.
The movie is about a boy who befriends a girl who just moved in to the neighbourhood, not knowing that she is a vampire.
Simon Oakes, Guy East and Nigel Sinclair and Donna Gigliotti of Hammer Films will be producing the movie, with Alex Brunner, Tobin Armbrust, John Ptak, Philip Elway and Fredrik Malmberg executive producing. Swedish producers John Nordling and Carl Molinder from the original movie will also be involved as producers.
Production begins this fall in New Mexico, and the movie is set for release in 2010 in the U.S.
Smit-McPhee can be seen alongside Viggo Mortensen in the upcoming movie "The Road", while Moretz was last seen in "(500) Days of Summer".
