Steve Carell is set to produce comedy movie "Missing Links," through his studio-based Carousel Production banner, according to Variety.

Bobby Cohen who previously produced ("View from the Top" and "Revolutionary Road") will also be producing, while Carousel's Vance DeGeneres and Charlie Hartsock will executive produce.

Jay Lavender "The Break-Up" has been hired to write the adaptation of Rick Reilly's novel of the same title.

Reilly, who is a columnist for ESPN the Magazine and ESPN.com, wrote the novel which centers on a group of golfing friends who ply their hobby at Ponkoquogue Municipal Golf Links and Deli. One day the group inadvertently discovers that all along they've been playing right next door to the Mayflower Club, an elite golfing club. Then a bet is on to see who will be first to sneak in a round at the Mayflower.
