The 1986 sci-fi comedy movie "Short Circuit," which starred Ally Sheedy and Steve Guttenberg is the latest oldies but goodies movie heading for a remake! Unbelievable!
Variety reports that "Paul Blart: Mall Cop" director Steve Carr has been hired by Dimension Films to remake the movie.
Dan Milano wrote the script for the remake, which revolves around Number 5, a highly sophisticated robot built by the military that undergoes a sudden transformation after being struck by lightning. He develops self-awareness and consciousness.
David Foster Productions' David Foster and Ryan E. Heppe will be producing with John Hyde of Rehab Entertainment. Executive producer is Jason Taragan of Rumpus Entertainment.
