Andrew Douglas has his sights set on "The Perfect Assassin"

"The Amityville Horror" British director Andrew Douglas has set his sights on "The Perfect Assassin".

Variety reports that Douglas is set to direct "The Perfect Assassin", an adaptation of writer Tariq Goddard's novel "Homage to a Firing Squad." Screenplay for the movie is written by Paul Webb, who also wrote the "Lincoln" script for Steven Spielberg.

The story is about 2 hit teams sent out to assassinate a politician towards the end of the Spain's 1936-39 civil war.

The $14.6 million movie are co-produced by Joaquin Padro and Mar Targarona of Barcelona's Rodar y Rodar, and Robyn Slovo of London's Company Pictures, and will be made in collaboration with London based Andrew Douglas Films.

Casting for the English-language movie will be done in Britain and Spain.
