Justin Long to star in Robert Redford's "The Conspirator"

Justin Long has come on board "The Conspirator", a period drama to be directed by Robert Redford.

The movie will also be starring James McAvoy as Frederick Aiken and Robin Wright Penn as Mary Surratt. Long is to play a close friend of James McAvoy's Frederick Aiken.

In the movie, Mary Surratt (Penn)is the only woman to be charged along with seven men to be in connection with the assassination of Abraham Lincoln. Col. Frederick Aiken (McAvoy), a 28-year-old Union war-hero, reluctantly agrees to defend her before a military tribunal.

Redford will also be producing with Greg Shapiro and Bill Holderman (Wildwood Enterprises') and Robert Stone, Webster Stone and Brian Falk (American Film Co.)from the script written by Gregory Bernstein and James D. Solomon. Jeremiah Samuels will be executive producing.

The movie will begin shooting in Georgia this month, and scheduled to be released next year.
