The series revolves around fifteen-year-old twins Sophie and Josh Newman, as they adventure across several continents with the immortal alchemyst Nicholas Flamel, while being pursued by the evil immortal John Dee.

The first three of Scott's series, "The Alchemyst," "The Magician" and "The Sorceress" were published by Delacorte Press Books, while the fourth book "The Necromancer," will be published on 25th of May 2010. The last two books are "The Warlock" and "The Enchantress."
