Martin Scorsese is making his debut 3D movie with "The Invention of Hugo Cabret."
Scorsese will direct his first children themed movie from script adapted by John Logan "The Aviator."
Movie which is based on the best-selling children book by by Brian Selznick, is about a 12-year-old orphan named Hugo, who lives in the walls of a busy Paris train station, and maintains the station’s clocks. A whole new adventure begins when he discovers a broken robot left by his late father, one of the wind-up, mechanical figures created by film-maker Georges Méliès, and works to bring it to life.
Movie is co-produced by GK Films, Scorsese, Tim Headington and Johnny Depp's production company Infinitum Nihil, and will be distributed by Sony Pictures.
Shooting for the 3D movie is scheduled to begin in London in June. Date of release is scheduled for Dec. 9, 2011.
