Stephen Norrington to write and direct "The Lost Patrol"

Director Stephen Norrington ("Blade," "The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen") is set to write and direct supernatural action thriller "The Lost Patrol" for Legendary Pictures.

The movie is described as a supernatural action thriller set against the backdrop of World War II, which was acquired as a spec written by Andrew Hilton last year, and has already been rewritten once by Matt Cirulnick "South Beach".

"The Lost Patrol" hits all of my geek-buttons: hardware, heroes, grime, insane monsters," Norrington said.

Rick Porras "The Lord of the Rings" and Steven Boyd "A Christmas Carol" are producing the project along with Legendary.
