Just as the James Franco, David Strathairn, Jon Hamm and Mary-Louise Parker starrer movie "Howl," which they wrote and directed is premiering at Sundance, Rob Epstein and Jeffrey Friedman are set to direct "Deep Throat" porn icon Linda Lovelace biopic.
W. Merritt Johnson ("Temple Grandin," "In Treatment") will be adapting from Eric Danville's book "The Complete Linda Lovelace," which is about Linda Boreman's rise to fame as the infamous porn star Linda Lovelace of 1972's "Deep Throat," and her sudden transformation into feminist, anti-porn activist Linda Marchiano, and her tragic death following a car crash in 2002.
Epstein was quoted as saying, "Linda is this fascinating character who continually reinvented herself and her story based on changing circumstances. It's a story with great dramatic and psychological dimensions."
Untitled Entertainment's Laura Rister will co-produce the movie with Animus Films' Jim Young and Eclectic Pictures' Heidi Jo Markel, while Johnson will be executive producing.
Negotiations is still ongoing with Nu Image to finance "Lovelace," which shooting planned for later this year.

I hope the movie deals with the near loss of first amendment rights.
ReplyDeleteAlan Dershowitz, Harry Reems and Richard Dreyfus helped defend the Nixon administration actions to place the Deep Throat actors in jail.
