Uma Thurman is falling for "Bel Ami"

Uma Thurman will star alongside Rob Pattinson "Twilight" and Kristin Scott Thomas in the feature adaptation of "Bel Ami," a classic novel by Guy de Maupassant.

"Bel Ami" centers on George Duroy, a journalist who rose from the rank of a lowly reporter to chief editor through immoral sexual manipulation, such as sleeping with his boss's wife and seduces his boss's daughter.

According to THR.com, Pattinson will play George Duroy, while Thurman is playing the wife of Duroy's friend, a woman who helps Duroy in his ascent, later becoming his wife. Thomas plays a socialite who falls for Duroy, becoming clingy in the process.

British theatre director and writer Declan Donnellan will be making his feature directorial debut with "Bel Ami." Redwave Films' Uberto Pasolini ("The Full Monty," "Machan") will produce the movie.

Shooting is scheduled to begin next year in Paris.
