Brad Pitt, through his Plan B Entertainment banner, and India's Reliance Big Pictures have reached a deal with international video games developer Capcom to develop a movie based on the "Dark Void" video game.
Capcom stated that the feature version is being developed as a sci-fi action franchise and potential starring vehicle for Pitt.
The sci-fi world of Dark Void is centers on Will, a pilot who crash lands in the Bermuda Triangle following a routine mission, and wakes up to find himself in an alternate world resembling a primitive earth where aliens with superior technology are planning to take over civilization. Together with a faction of humans, Will takes on the alien race using their own advanced technology including a high-powered jet pack.
Brad Pitt’s Plan B Entertainment has produced films such as the Oscar-Winning The Departed, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, A Mighty Heart, and The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford.
