Helena Bonham Carter, Jennifer Ehle, Guy Pearce, Derek Jacobi, Timothy Spall and Michael Gambon will be joining Colin Firth and Geoffrey Rush in "The King's Speech," which director Tom Hooper ("Red Dust," "The Damned United")will direct.
Hooper will direct from the script written by David Seidler "Son of the Dragon."
The period drama is about the young King George VI (the father of the current Queen Elizabeth II) who reluctantly assumes the throne after his brother, Edward, abdicates, and formed an unlikely friendship with unorthodox speech therapist, Lionel Logue.
Producers are Iain Canning and Emile Sherman of See-Saw Films and Gareth Unwin of Bedlam Productions. Bedlam's Simon Egan is co-producer. Shooting has started in U.K.
