Gwyneth Paltrow is the wife of "The Danish Girl"

It was mentioned earlier that Charlize Theron who was previously attached to Swedish director Tomas Alfredson's "The Danish Girl," has left the project. Now it's officially confirmed that the project has found a new replacement in Gwyneth Paltrow.

Paltrow is set to join Nicole Kidman who had already been attached to play real-life world's first post-operative transsexual Danish painter Einar Wegener/Lili Elbe. Paltrow will play Einar/Lili's wife Greta.

The story revolves around Danish painter Einar Wegener(Kidman) who dressed as a woman to do a favour for his wife Greta (Paltrow) a portrait painter who asked him to stand in for a female model. That eventually leads to a series of five sex-change operations by Wegener to transform into a woman, Lili Elbe.

Kidman is also co-producing alongside Per Saari, Gail Mutrux, Anne Harrison and Linda Reisman.

The Pretty Pictures, Harrison Productions and Blossom Films. co-production movie is scheduled for release in 2011.
