Hollywood heartthrob George Clooney has been heating up the Venice Film Festival with the premiere of his latest movie "The Men Who Stare at Goat's". Clooney received a warm movie star welcome in the country that has become his second home.
"The Men Who Stare At Goats" is a mad cap comedy based on Jon Ronson's eponymous book that focuses on American reporter Bob Wilton, who runs off to the war zone to get over being left by his wife.
Eager to uncover the next big scoop out of the Iraq war zone, Wilton meets Lyn Cassady played by Clooney, a member of the New Earth Army, a unit founded by Bill Django, a soldier-turned-new age hippie whose battalion aimed to change the way wars are fought by employing paranormal powers.
Django's efforts are ultimately thwarted by his rival. And as a result, the battalion is shut down, and Django goes missing.
Based on Jon Ronson's book of the same name and inspired by true events, "The Men Who Stare At Goats" features an all-star cast that also includes Ewan McGregor, Jeff Bridges, and Kevin Spacey. The Venice Film Festival runs through September 12th.
