Palminteri invests in 'Mafia'
Chazz Palminteri will write and co-produce indie drama "Wall Street Mafia" for Fiore Films, with lensing to start in New York in February.
Palminteri may also co-star in the film, depending on his schedule. He's performing in the stage version of "A Bronx Tale," which will be seen next at the Venetian in Las Vegas on Oct. 17-18.
"Wall Street Mafia" is based on the true story of the FBI's investigation into the mob's involvement in Wall Street and the world of finance during the mid-1990s. Story centers on a young exec who leaves Brooklyn for a career at a supposedly reputable Wall Street brokerage house and then finds himself caught between the mafia and the FBI, which uses aggressive tactics to get him to talk.
Palminteri's credits include "The Usual Suspects," "Bullets Over Broadway" and "Analyze This." He has also directed episodes of "Oz" and "Women vs. Men" and the feature film "Noel," starring Susan Sarandon, Penelope Cruz, Robin Williams and Paul Walker.
