"War of the Gods" officially titled "Immortals" - Hurt and Lucas join in

Relativity Media's "War of the Gods" has been officially changed to "Immortals," with two new cast joining in.

John Hurt ("Alien," "Harry Potter franchise," "Hellboy, Hellboy 2") and Isabel Lucas ("Home and Away tv series," "Daybreakers") have joined Stephen Dorff, Kellan Lutz, Henry Cavill, Mickey Rourke and Freida Pinto in the Greek mythology epic.

Hurt will star as the earthly manifestation of Zeus, who acts as Theseus' mentor. Lucas will play Athena, the daughter of Zeus. Henry Cavill stars as Theseus; Stephen Dorff is Stavros, the master thief; Kellan Lutz plays Poseidon; Mickey Rourke is King Hyperion; Freida Pinto plays Phaedra, an oracle priestess.

Christian Gudegast wrote the screenplay, which Tarsem Singh will direct.

The epic is about a young warrior Theseus who leads his men into battle with the immortal Greek gods to defeat evil elder gods of the Titans in order to save mankind.

Hollywood Gang Productions' Gianni Nunnari will produce alongside Atmosphere Entertainment's Mark Canton and Relativity's Ryan Kavanaugh. Executive producing are Relativity's Tucker Tooley and Hollywood Gangs'Craig Flores. Universal will handle distribution.

Shooting is scheduled to begin in Montreal this week. Release date for the movie is set for Nov. 11, 2011.
