Big screen blockbuster "The Warrior and the Wolf", directed by veteran film director Tian Zhuangzhuang, will be released soon. The promotional trailer for the film was released this week, and the film's website was launched to help build even more excitement.

Adapted from Japanese writer Yasushi Inoue's fantasy novel of the same name, film "The Warrior and the Wolf" tells of a romantic encounter of a general and his captive. The general is on a mission to safeguard the country's border. But he manages to fall in love with his captive, a lady from the enemy tribe. The two are willing to be cursed for the sake of their love. After lingering with each other for seven days and nights, both of them are turned into wolves.

Director Tian Zhuangzhuang favored the novel for fourteen years. Finally, technology has caught up with his vision, allowing him to put the story onto the big screen.

"The Warrior and the Wolf" is played by Japanese actor Joe Odagiri and the international star Maggie Q. Chinese actor Wang Zhiwen, friend of Tian for many years, volunteered to dub his voice for Joe Odagiri's role. He intended to play a part in the film, but had to miss the opportunity because his wife was going to have baby.

Actor Wang Zhiwen said, "Tian told me Odagiri needed dubbing. I think so too. So, I said let me to do the dubbing."

The film was scheduled to be released during the new year season, but the date was moved up to October 2nd. Facing competitors like "The Founding of a Republic" and the spy thriller "The Message", the director is confident.

Director Yian Zhuangzhuang said, "I think the film market is like a supermarket everyone can choose ones that tickles his fancy. I'm sure this film will have its audience."

Tian hopes the film contains the glamour of legend or myth, which portrays human's inner feelings, human nature, and the nature of wolves.
