Chinese Audience Film Awards releases list of nominees

China's "Golden Rooster Film Awards" has released this year's list of nominees. The award ceremony is slated for October 13th in Nanchang in Jiangxi Province.

Domestic films like "The Assembly", "Forever Enthralled", "Examination 1977" and "Li Chun" are the most notable films in this year's competition. "The Assembly" by Feng Xiaogang will compete against "Forever Enthralled" from Chen Kaige in three categories including "Best Picture", "Best Directing", and "Best Actor". Zhang Ziyi, Zhao Wei, and Zhou Xun will rival for "Best Actress" award.

The annual event is extremely popular among Chinese people as the award winners are chosen by the audience at large.
