Written by Siewaun

John Logan is set to collaborate with Ridley Scott again. They previously worked together in the successful Oscar-winning movie "Gladiator." This time around Logan will be adapting Justin Cronin's 1,200 pages vampire novel titled, "The Passage", with Scott being the possible director.

Fox 2000 and Ridley Scott’s Scott Free Productions had successfully won the bid for the film rights to the novel two years ago for $1.75 million. And it was only for the first book of the planned trilogy, as confirmed by Ellen Levine, a literary agent at Trident Media Group in 2007. Ballantine Books was reported to have paid $3.75 million for the publishing rights of the trilogy novel.

The story is about government conducted medical experiments that gone awry, and transformed death row inmates into into vampires.

John Logan previously worked also with directors, Martin Scorsese (The Aviator) & Tim Burton (Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street). He also wrote the upcoming film Empire which will be directed by Michael Mann and will star Will Smith. Later on, he'll be working on Rango, an animated feature about a lizard, and Bioshock, based on the popular video game for Universal Pictures.
