Kevin James is Vince Vaughn best pal in Ron Howard film

Kevin James ("I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry," "Paul Blart: Mall Cop") is in talks to star in Universal's yet untitled feature, also starring Vince Vaughn "Couples Retreat."

Ron Howard will direct the movie from Allan Loeb's script which centers on a man (Vaughn) who learns that his best friend's (James) wife is cheating on him and is in dilemma on whether to inform him about it.

Brian Grazer, who came up with the story will co-produce through his Imagine Entertainment banner alongside Vaughn's Wild West Picture Show Productions. Imagine's Kim Roth and Wild West's Victoria Vaughn will executive produce.

Universal's Kristen Lowe is overseeing the project, which Howard will begin shooting in spring in Chicago.
