Adam Brody ("Jennifer's Body," "Cop Out") is in talks to join Hugh Laurie ("House -Fox TV," "Street Kings") and Leighton Meester ("Gossip Girl -TV series," "The Roommate) in indie comedy drama "The Oranges." Catherine Keener ("Capote," "Where the Wild Things Are"), Alia Shawkat "Whip It" and Allison Janney ("Hairspray," "Juno") are also in talks to join, according to THR.
Julian Farino ("Entourage -TV series," "How to Make it in America") will direct from the script by Ian Helfer and Jay Reiss, which centers on a man's (Laurie) romantic relationship with a family friend's daughter (Meester) that turns their lives and both of their families upside down.
Brody plays Laurie's son, who falls for Meester but is shocked to learn she's having a torrid affair with his dad. Shawkat plays Brody's sister, Keener plays their mother. Janney plays Meester's mom.
Producers are Anthony Bregman, Glen Basner and Leslie Urdang. Shooting is scheduled to begin March 30 in New York.
